This is an open forum for discussion on my research.... A opportunity to share Jack "The Blackman" McCord aka Black Jack to an audience that are interested in the life of a black man from the 19Th century who I found to be boundless in the study of a slaves daily life in Illinois.

The correlation of the Bible being used to justify Slavery during the period of American Slavery.

Jack was a young black farmer bought to Illinois from Overton county, Tennessee in 1836.

By researching Jack "the Blackman" McCord I intend to bring some clarity to their relationship. I believe that Black Jack... as they called him deserves wider attention and recognition. I want him to be remembered as a REAL person and a valued member of the community.
