Global venture capital funding reached $28 billion in November 2024, reflecting a decline from $32 billion in October 2024 but an increase from $21 billion in November 2023. Three companies secured over one billion dollars each, primarily in the AI sector. Seed funding totaled just over $2 billion, down approximately one-third year over year, while early-stage funding fell by more than 20%. In contrast, late-stage funding doubled year over year due to larger funding rounds. About 16% of this year's global venture funding involved billion-dollar-plus deals, a rise from 15% in 2023 and 5% in 2022. Over half of November's venture investments, over $14 billion, targeted AI companies across several sectors. Despite increased funding amounts, the number of deals at seed, Series A, and Series B stages declined, indicating potential tightening in early-stage funding as 2025 approaches.
