In this episode I discuss a part of the spiritual journey not many lay out in the depth I know I needed when becoming more emotionally available to myself. The first part of my spiritual awakening was recognising how much I'd tried to stop caring, so I didn't seem 'too much', to then allow myself permission to feel again. However, when I started to feel again, that wasn't all there was to it. I had to learn how to actually process my feelings individually, so I stopped unintentionally draining my friends/relationships. To avoid emotional labour is to ensure you figure out 'what' you feel, before you explain to someone you've been triggered. It's taking responsibility for the 'figuring out' process, as a pre-process to a conversation about your feelings with another. I hope this episode gives you clarity on how to not only be a better friend to others, but to yourself.
