We wrap up our 'Under the Sun' series this week with Ps Doug delivering a challenging and encouraging word on how to discern God's will for our lives and how to move forward into a Christ-aligned, wisdom-filled life.

Short answer? Love God, Love people.
However, in the everyday world we live in how does that work in our lives.
Is finding out God’s will, just about finding out what car or house to buy? Which person to marry, which job to take?
Three things will help us discover His will for us.
Alignment.
We will struggle to find satisfaction when our ‘way’ is not in alignment with God’s.
Isaiah 55 reminds us that His ways and thoughts are higher than ours.
God does things from a bigger and longer perspective. He sees the end result of our choices and decisions, wise or unwise.
Alignment with His will brings clarity for us.
His Word.
Psalm 25:4. Show me your ways and your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me!
A psalm of submission to ways and thoughts that are higher, which draws our hearts and minds up to see from a better perspective. One which is connected to His plans for us.
God’s Word is his heart and mind revealed to us.
Reading it, transforms our thinking and grows our understanding about what His Ways look like.
Joy in finding the promises of God’s involvement in our life will encourage us to seek and do His will instead of stubbornly pushing on with ours. This releases us from the ensnaring pull of the world and its influence over us.
Prayer.
James 4:8. Draw near to Him and He does the same. This closeness in speaking to Him about your plans for your life allows honest dialogue and a space to hear from Him about where God may want you to see His will for you.
If you don’t talk, you never find out.
The advantage of having more than one voice and heart seeking His will for you is immense!
Gather friends and submit your ways to God and just see what more you will find!
Next steps:
Write down all your plans.
Self-reflect to see if they align with what God has in mind.
Read your Bible and go after the wisdom and guidance that He reveals there.
Pray. Alone and with others to leverage the heart of many for your journey.
Then Trust that God has a plan not to harm but to prosper/grow/expand your life deeper and wider than you ever thought possible.
