Israeli government plans to force Palestinian families out of their homes in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. The people of Sheikh Jarrah are originally refugees who were expelled from their lands in 1948 Palestine (expulsion is the correct word according to all the New Historians who studied the declassified official Israeli military records from the time). These 1948 refugees had fled to what was Jordanian-controlled East Jerusalem. This is an occupied city. Under international law such an occupation can only be temporary. This has become permanent and constitutes a war crime. The settlement of Jewish Israelis in East Jerusalem is a war crime. This is the Israeli equivalent of what is now happening in Kashmir and in Myanmar with the Rohingyas.
