Gout is a type of arthritis caused when uric acid accumulates in the joints. Uric acid is a by-product of purine metabolism.  Most first attacks of gout occur at night and involve the joint of the big toe. 

Who is Dr. Dummar? He's a licensed Chiropractic Physician who holds a masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
