What is Light and What Dark. | Poetry By Ashok Sawhny Sahil | English Poetry

What is Light and What Dark.
Fake is the World today, for sure
Artificial it is, indeed
When, what it will bear
Is unknown to even the little seed,
Where, overwhelming is sordid desire
And, overpowering is greed,
When hunger needs not things to eat
But survives on filthy lucre and gold as feed.
Where, life is not a journey
But, a constant mad race,
Where, Time’s on no one’s side
And, there is no resting-place,
Where, smiles are rare and creases bare
And, deeply furrowed the human face,
Where, buttons you press to annihilate
And, no more than a stick is, now, the lowly mace.
Where, a million miles the heart and mind separate
And, Promises are made to break, not keep,
Body and Mind two beings apart
And, the Eyes don’t know what is sleep,
Where Man is shallow and contriving
And, ponds and streams all very deep,
Where snails glide and tortoises sprint
While Man, we see, as an awful creep.
Who now will set things right
And who light up the dark night,
The Sun and the Moon incompetent, incapable
Are we, anywhere, in the Almighty’s sight?
