What is Social Enterprise?

WheelWorks is a youth arts organisation working with children and young people aged 4 – 25 who may not otherwise have access to high quality artistic activity.

They work in partnership with all types of communities throughout Northern Ireland to provide taster workshops and issue based programmes which help young people learn new skills and express themselves through traditional and digital art.

The Centre is the jewel in the crown of South Armagh tourism and specialize in enabling the visitor to experience and participate in the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Positive Steps Outdoors is a social enterprise born out of the vision that connecting people to the natural environment, and each other, helps individuals and teams manage life’s pressures, build sustainable networks, strengthen future resilience and deepen their affinity with the environment.

Greenhill YMCA is an outdoor learning and residential centre set in a beautiful 17 acre site on the slopes of the Slieve Donard Mountain.

YMCA has been delivering outdoor programs on the Greenhill site for over 100 years. Their dedicated team of local and international staff make Greenhill YMCA the ideal place for any young person to reach their full potential.

Sara McCracken is the founder and CEO of Empatheyes, the first social enterprise of its kind to offer immersive Virtual Reality technology for live, virtual, visual impairment awareness training courses. 

Access Employment Limited (AEL) is a social enterprise that enables people with learning disabilities/difficulties, autism, aspergers or health related conditions, to access work experience and gain recognised qualifications, therefore enhancing their lifestyle, and allowing them to operate more effectively in the community.  

Belfast 89FM is a local radio station providing music, quizzes, and craic plus all the information on traffic and travel news.

The combination of new volunteers and familiar voices of presenters ensures that Belfast 89FM has a truly genuine, engaging and distinctive sound.

Open House Festival is an annual summer event that takes place in the beautiful seaside city of Bangor, County Down, curated and run by Open House. The non-profit festival has entertained visitors for over 20 years, brilliantly building upon each successive outing with great music, film and theatre.
