In the final Summer Edition of the What is Truth Catholic Podcast for 2018, we are called to consider during this 22nd Sunday of Ordinary Time what we observe in our lives.  In this case, observe not only means what do we notice but what do we follow in our lives.  Do we follow ourselves or the commandments of Jesus and His one Holy and Apostolic Church?  It is easy to dismiss Church teachings as being outdated or even hypocritical.  What will we observe?

In this Summer Edition of the What is Truth Catholic Podcast, we are called to reflect on where the focus of our lives is.  Are we focused on ourselves, our problems and our happiness, or on others and/or on the world?  We are called to focus on Christ, for that is the only way we can live in the peace of Christ and have true joy in the journey, no matter what crosses we have to carry.  

In this Summer Edition of the What is Truth Catholic Podcast, we will reflect on the readings for the 13th Sunday of Ordinary Time.  This will lead to us thinking about death - that God did not create death but we humans did, by our sinfulness and selfishness.

God created human death not to be feared but to be a dormition - a passing from this life to eternal life.  But we create death something to be feared and avoided at all costs.  May we trust the mercy of our Lord and live in faith, not in fear.  

In this Summer Edition of the What is Truth Catholic Podcast, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist.  John is the greatest human being ever born who is not God or without sin.  John's voice heralded the Lamb of God, who came into the world to free us from our sinfulness and to offer us the gift of eternal life.

May we spend this summer using our voices to proclaim the love and mercy of our Lord and to be a light to others who may be struggling in the darkness of pain and despair.  

In this Summer Edition for June 17, 2018, we are called to reflect on God's way of taking what is small and insignificant and making it great and fruitful.  We are asked to remember that this world is not our home - that we are made in the image of God and that our home is with Him in the Kingdom of Heaven

We will also hear a homily for the 11th Sunday of Ordinary Time about Jesus sharing the parable of the mustard seed.  May we be small so that our Lord can make of us a large tree that will bear good fruit.

In this Summer Edition of the What is Truth Catholic Podcast, we are challenged to contemplate who we really are.  During this 10th Sunday of Ordinary Time, our readings call us to complete the truth of our identity and to ask ourselves if we are willing to do what it takes on our end to become what we were created to be.
