There’s a huge difference between “feeling” happy and “being” joyful. Happiness is an inconsistent feeling which is temporarily created by the meanings you create about your circumstances. Joy is a consistent mindset which is independent of your circumstances. 

If you’re hustling to “feel” happy, it’s much like:

• a filmmaker over-relying on special effects at the expense of a solid story and wonderful characters

If you’re experiencing joy, it’s much like:

• a filmmaker prioritizing an excellent scrip, plot and character development first
