Lasting change often begins with one small action repeated consistently.
In this episode, I explore practical ways to build healthy habits: choose a clear behaviour, connect it to a consistent cue, make it easy to begin, and shape your surroundings to support it.
I also discuss tracking progress without chasing perfection—and why returning to a habit after a missed day matters more than maintaining a flawless streak.
What’s one small habit you could start building today?

Do you question your decisions, compare yourself to others, or worry about disappointing people?
Wanting approval is normal. But when your confidence depends on it, you can lose sight of what matters to you.
In this video, we explore how to trust your own judgement, recognise approval-seeking, clarify your values and acknowledge your progress—while staying open to useful feedback.
Other people’s opinions can be information without becoming instructions. The decision remains yours.

Why can happiness feel so difficult to hold on to—even when life appears to be going well?
In this video, I explore the balance between our inner and outer lives.
I think of them as two gardens.
Our inner garden includes our mental health, values, self-awareness, emotional healing, spiritual growth and the relationship we have with ourselves.
Our outer garden includes work, money, relationships, physical health, creativity, possessions, achievement and the experiences we have in the world.
Both gardens need attention.
If we focus entirely on success, money and material things, life can look impressive from the outside while still feeling empty within. We reach a goal, enjoy it for a while and then begin chasing the next thing, hoping it will finally make us feel fulfilled.
But the opposite can also become unhealthy. We can spend so much time reflecting, healing and analysing ourselves that we stop participating in life. Sometimes the next lesson doesn’t come from looking further within—it comes from taking action, meeting people, creating something and having new experiences.
Balance doesn’t mean dividing life perfectly in half. It will look different for each person and change throughout different stages of life.
Sometimes we need to slow down and work on what is happening within us. At other times, we need to stop analysing, step back into the world and begin living.
In this video, I also share how recognising friction in my own life eventually led me away from DJing and music production and towards creating this podcast, YouTube channel and a series of children’s books.
Perhaps lasting happiness isn’t about choosing between inner peace and outer success. Perhaps it comes from allowing the two to support each other.
Ask yourself:
Which garden have I been tending?
And which one have I been neglecting?

Feeling positive doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect.
You can be grateful and still have a difficult day. Sometimes, the goal is simply to make the day feel five or ten percent better.
In this video, I share five small things you can try today:
• Get outside for ten minutes
• Complete one small task
• Use a realistic positive affirmation
• Write down three things that are going well
• Do something you enjoy without making it productive
None of these needs to be complicated. You don’t have to completely transform your life today—just choose one manageable action and see whether it shifts the direction of your day.
This is part of a new series of short, honest videos exploring mental health, creativity, recovery, motivation and personal growth.

Welcome to What Now Then? — a podcast about real people, real conversations and the stories that shape us.
In this first video, I share why I created the podcast, what inspired the name What Now Then?, and what I hope to build through honest, meaningful conversations with people from all walks of life.
Life rarely follows a straight path. We all reach moments where things change, plans shift and we find ourselves asking:
“What now then?”
This podcast is about exploring those moments — the challenges, decisions, setbacks and turning points that shape who we become.
Through open conversations with guests from different backgrounds, What Now Then? will share stories of resilience, change, ambition, loss, growth and new beginnings.

What Now Then? is a podcast built around honest conversations with real people, real stories, and the moments in life that force us to stop and ask one simple question:
What now…
Hosted by Jonathon Kelly in Western Australia, the podcast explores the turning points that shape who we become — the setbacks, breakthroughs, mistakes, relationships, challenges, losses, opportunities and unexpected changes that can completely alter the direction of a life.
This isn’t about pretending everybody has everything figured out.
It’s about what really happens behind the scenes.
Each episode brings a guest into a relaxed, genuine conversation about their life, their experiences and the lessons they’ve picked up along the way. Some guests may have achieved extraordinary things. Others may simply be ordinary people who have lived through extraordinary circumstances.
Either way, everybody has a story.
The conversations can move through relationships, recovery, mental health, family, personal growth, creativity, careers, business, purpose, success, failure and the difficult decisions we sometimes have to make when the life we expected doesn’t quite turn out the way we planned.
Because life rarely moves in a straight line.
Relationships change.
Careers change.
People change.
Plans fall apart.
Opportunities appear when we least expect them.
Sometimes we make the wrong decision. Sometimes we make the right decision and things still don’t work out. And sometimes the moments that feel like complete disasters at the time end up becoming the beginning of something entirely new.
Those are the moments What Now Then? is interested in.
This isn’t a traditional interview show built around rehearsed answers or carefully polished success stories. The goal is to create conversations that feel like you’re sitting in the room with us — curious, relaxed and willing to go wherever the discussion naturally leads.
There will be serious conversations.
There will be funny conversations.
There will probably be uncomfortable conversations.
And every now and again, we’ll disappear down a completely unexpected rabbit hole.
That’s part of it.
Jonathon isn’t sitting behind the microphone because he believes he has all the answers. The podcast exists because he still has plenty of questions.
What makes someone completely change direction?
How do people rebuild after things fall apart?
Why do some experiences stay with us for decades?
What have people learned about love, relationships, family, happiness, ambition and regret?
What does success actually mean once you’ve experienced it?
How do you know when it’s time to let something go?
And when everything changes…
What do you do next?
Sometimes one conversation can change the way you look at something.
Sometimes it’s a single story.
A mistake somebody admits to.
A lesson they learned the hard way.
Or one sentence that reaches you at exactly the right moment.
That’s what this podcast hopes to create.
Not perfect people.
Not perfect stories.
Just genuine human conversations about the experiences that make us who we are.
Season One marks the beginning of that journey — bringing together guests from different backgrounds, perspectives and walks of life, with each episode offering something new to think about.
So whether you’re rebuilding, changing direction, chasing something new, questioning where you’re heading, or you simply enjoy hearing fascinating people tell their stories, you’re invited to be part of the conversation.
