The Woman I’m Becoming

What Obedience Looks Like When You Don’t Feel Ready

Listen Later

In this episode, I dive into what it looks like to produce “out of season”—and how obedience doesn’t wait for you to feel ready.

This is a real, raw check-in. I’m talking about what’s been going on behind the scenes, mentally, spiritually, and even financially and the tension of wanting to pull back from everything God has given me… while simultaneously feeling Him call me to show up anyway.

At 4:00AM, God woke me up and led me to Mark 11—the story of Jesus and the fig tree. And what stood out to me is this: even though it wasn’t fig season… He still expected fruit.

Because “out of season” doesn’t just mean timing—it looks like feeling unprepared, overwhelmed, stretched thin, or not at your best. It’s those moments where life is life-ing and everything in you is saying, “now is not the time.”

But God is still requiring obedience.

Not from a place of hustle, pressure, or striving—but from a place of abiding in Him. Learning how to lean on God to produce what you can’t in your own strength.

This episode is me choosing to show up anyway.

Not perfectly.

Not having all of the answers.

But obedient.

If you’ve been feeling like stepping away…

If you’ve been questioning if you’re ready…

If you’ve been tempted to delay what God called you to…

This episode is for you.

Because maybe the reason it feels out of season… is because God wants the credit for the fruit.
