In this episode, we’re talking about what it really means to wait well — not just wait on God, but wait with faith, peace, and spiritual maturity… without becoming desperate, bitter, or anxious.
This is the conclusion of my 3-part series on waiting:
• the consequences of being impatient with God
• the benefits of waiting on God
• and now… how to actually do it well
We’re anchored in Luke 2:25–35, walking through the story of Simeon, a man who had been waiting his entire life on “the consolation of Israel.” While we know that consolation was Jesus, the author never names Him yet — and I believe that’s intentional. Because the focus of this passage isn’t just what Simeon was waiting for… it’s how he waited.
Here’s what I’m breaking down in this episode:
• Waiting for the Promise vs. Waiting on God’s Heart: Why waiting well isn’t about obsessively praying for the thing, but learning to trust the heart of the One who promised it.
• Praying for the Gift vs. Praying for the Fruit: How instead of praying for a husband, job, money, or friends, we should be praying for what those things are meant to bring — love, guidance, companionship, provision, security, community, and support.
• The Danger of Fixating on God’s Hand: Why making your prayers all about outcomes can quietly turn your relationship with God transactional.
• Shifting Your Prayer Life: How changing what you pray for can change how you wait — with more peace, trust, and emotional stability.
So this week, I’m challenging you to ask yourself:
Are you waiting on the promise… or are you learning to wait on God’s heart?
Because waiting well isn’t about chasing blessings.
It’s about trusting the Blesser.
And the focus should never be on God’s hand — but on His heart.
