For the longest time, to me, a bike was just a bike. And more specifically, a BMX bike. Road bikes and mountain bikes were nowhere in the picture until I became more serious with the sport. A lot of things I discovered along the way, and I still am discovering, have been such eye-openers, starting with the humble Mountain Bike.

Many would make out a mountain bike to simply be a bike for riding in the mountains, and they wouldn't be wrong. However, there's a whole other world to be discovered in regards to mountain bikes, but for today, as we start out the series on Mountain Biking 101, we just look at what it means to mention the word, Mountain Bike.
