James Talarico led the Texas House in a sad and revealing prayer last week.

Jonathan Stickland was the first to talk about this issue, and Talarico is now getting national attention for his deceiving prayer. Democrats across the nation are praising him for spewing universalist language, right in the heart of Texas.

Earlier this year, conservatives were outraged by Congress closing a prayer with “Awomen,” rather than “Amen.” This is offensive, but Talarico’s prayer was just as bad—if not worse.

The Texas House is not a body that is led by a strong moral ethic; this much we know is true, and it’s important that we recognize that. It changes the way you address the Legislature and what you expect from them.
