Poetry On Life

What the Mirror Says

Listen Later

A smothered Nation or a game of chess

A chequerboard, a war zone, what a mess,

A tragedy of Shakespearian proportions

Anchors, wise guys, views and notions.

A world gone nuts beyond repair

Madhouses and madness at these we stare,

The beating heart, just a clock no more

Little feeling, less care.

How unfeeling is the world today

Sad the saga, tragic the play

Compassion, a word now extinct

Man ready to Man, sadly, betray.

No longer are we a species, One

Endangered, indeed, and still not done,

Lions, Tigers, Rhinos and Mice, co-exist

But, Man can’t live with Man till the last is overrun.
