This episodes Muppet Fact: "The famous and hilarious Muppet Show aired from 1976-1981, and it’s quite different than other TV shows for more than one reason. A network produces most shows and then decides the airing times, but The Muppet Show was actually created, filmed, and then sold to local TV stations that were interested. At first, US cities were not interested but there was interest in England. So that is where the show got it’s start and where it was filmed; in a sense, it is a British show! The Muppet Show ran for 5 seasons totaling 120 episodes."

This episodes Muppet Fact: "Frank Oz is famously known as the voice of Miss Piggy, and as some method actors do, he created a backstory of Miss Piggy’s childhood. Here’s a direct quote from Frank Oz in 1979 to The New York Times on Miss Piggy’s backstory:

“She grew up in a small town in Iowa; her father died when she was young, and her mother wasn't that nice to her. She had to enter beauty contests to survive, as many single women do. She has a lot of vulnerability which she has to hide, because of her need to be a superstar."

This episodes Muppet Quote: “I know it's easier to portray a world filled with cynicism and anger, where problems are solved with violence...It's an easy out. What's a whole lot tougher is to offer alternatives, to present other ways conflicts can be resolved, and to show you can have a positive impact on your world. To do that, you have to put yourself out on a limb, take chances, and run the risk of being called a do-gooder.” - Jim Henson

This episodes Muppet Quote: “I really do believe that all of you are at the beginning of a wonderful journey. As you start traveling down that road of life, remember this: There are never enough comfort stops. The places you’re going to are never on the map. And once you get that map out, you won’t be able to re-fold it, no matter how smart you are. So forget the map, roll down the windows, and whenever you can, pull over and have a picnic with a pig. And if you can help, it never fly as cargo.” - Jim Henson

This episodes Muppet Fact: "For those who have seen The Muppet Movie Reprise (2011) starring Jason Segel, he is actually one of the main reasons the movie came to be! He and the director of the movie “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” also starring Segel, concocted the plot and concept for the new Muppet movie after Segel’s character in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” wrote a puppet musical about Dracula. Segel is a lifelong Muppet fan, and the Jim Henson production obviously loved the idea because it’s the Muppet Movie we have today!"
