Bev is interested in the idea of ‘lifelong learning’. As she puts it, does front-ending all our education make sense, or should we be sprinkling adult learning and the university experience throughout our lives? Can we reform education to benefit people throughout their lives?

For Ben, the education system didn’t quite work, yet he’s now a successful business owner. Are we allowing children to develop their natural abilities or are we trying to fit lots of square pegs into a round hole? Should we be allowing kids to have more say in the things they learn about to get the most out of them? What would you be doing now if you’d been allowed to fully dive into the subject that interested you most at school?

Kate’s doesn’t think that what we’re teaching children at school is preparing them for what they need for the workplace. Does the current education system teach children enough context and useful life skills for them to be able to dive straight into work? How would the world look if we’d all been taught real-world skills rather than algebra?

Sandra believes that we should be prioritising Emotional Intelligence as much as we do Academia in schools. How different would society be if we had all learnt to control our emotions and be more in tune with other people from an early age? Is fact-based learning all that we should be teaching our kids?

Ed is an ex-teacher who knows that if you don’t have frontline experience then it’s hard to get a grasp of the daily realities of teaching kids. What would the education system look like now if every Minister for Education had been a teacher themselves? Do exams even work? Is blended learning the future?

Gauthier is advocating Education Technology (or EdTech) as the next big thing. Is the industry about to explode? Is education really going to have a digital future? Should we all be investing in EdTech right now?
