  • When Feelings Take The Wheel

    What Then Say You?

Your emotions are real, strong, and God-given, but they can still talk you into choices you never meant to make. We pull back the curtain on faith, marriage, and everyday life to ask a hard question: how do we tell the difference between righteous emotion and plain old self-interest? From Genesis and the imago Dei to Jesus flipping tables in the temple, we trace how Scripture treats emotion with both honesty and precision, and why that matters when our culture tells us to follow our heart no matter what.

We also get practical about the moments that don’t feel “spiritual” enough to bring to God. Small purchases, quick reactions, parenting choices, and tense conversations can become the exact place where the flesh takes over, especially when defensiveness kicks in and we start keeping score. One image keeps coming back: treating God like a co-signer. When we decide first and pray later, we are asking Him to bless what He never authored, and we should not be surprised when consequences show up.

Along the way, we talk about conviction versus condemnation, repentance as real life change, and why prayer in the heat of the moment is the simplest reset we keep resisting. If you want stronger Christian discernment, healthier marriage communication, and a faith that covers the middle ground of life not just the highs and lows, this conversation is for you. • Anger, Patience, And The Real Source Of Peace

    What Then Say You?

Anger can look like a “normal” reaction, but we keep noticing the same root underneath it: unmet expectations. When we’re frustrated with our spouse, embarrassed by our kids in public, or tired of waiting on God, the heat of anger reveals what we really wanted from the moment. We talk through the difference between correction and anger, why patience isn’t just personality, and how love stays grounded even when the day feels like a battleground.

We also go after a bigger drift we’ve watched in ourselves and in church culture: starting with genuine zeal for Christ, then slowly sliding into hustle, self-protection, and performance. “Make the vision plain” (Habakkuk 2:2) gets quoted like a personal goal strategy, but the context is God responding to a prophet’s grief and saying, in effect, I’ve got this. That vision is not our next achievement. It’s God’s sovereignty, God’s timing, and God’s glory. We connect that to success, motives, and the subtle American dream temptation to put Jesus on our plans instead of surrendering our plans to Jesus.

Finally, we tie “be angry and do not sin” to something deeper than behavior management. Anger turns into sin when we lose faith, shrink back, and stop enduring in trust. When our “eye” gets filled with the world, darkness follows, but when the vision is clear and centered on Christ, light follows. If you’ve been wrestling with frustration, ambition, or disappointment, this one is an invitation to check your motives at the door and return to simple faith. Subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, leave a review, and run it against the Word for yourself: where are you tempted to trade trust for control?

  • Why Israel Still Matters For Christians

    What Then Say You?

Treating Israel like a symbol might feel harmless until you realize what it does to your theology: it quietly moves you to the center of a story that never started with you. We dig into a topic that can be triggering but desperately needed, how replacement theology and an Americanized gospel can twist the way we read the Bible, pray, and even understand salvation.

We open Romans 11 and sit with Paul’s olive tree picture: natural branches, a wild olive branch grafted in, and a warning that should sober every believer. The root supports us, not the other way around, and trust is never a license for arrogance. From there, we talk spiritual adoption in plain terms, what it means to be brought into covenant by grace, and why holiness cannot be treated like a bonus feature of Christianity. This is a conversation about reverence, humility, and the fear of God that keeps faith from turning into self confidence.

Then we move to Galatians 4 and the real life struggle of wanting to go back. Old habits can feel familiar, even when they were destructive, and comfort can make believers lazy when they should be running the race. We also challenge an entitled mindset that treats God like He owes us, especially when we rip promises from context and paste our name over them. If you want a deeper, more biblical approach to discipleship, sanctification, and standing with God’s purposes, this one will press you in the best way.

  • Spiritual Warfare- When The Enemy Blends In

    What Then Say You?

The enemy doesn’t always show up as something you can easily spot. Sometimes the real threat is an idea that blends in, gains trust, and slowly reshapes what you believe. We start with my experience in Afghanistan, where the battlefield had no clear front line and success was hard to measure because the fight was against an ideology, not just an army. That picture becomes a sobering lens for our Christian spiritual warfare today.

Diving into Galatians 3 and Paul’s piercing question, “Who has put you under a spell?” and we unpack how deception often works through persuasion, not pressure. We talk about the traps on both sides: legalism that turns church habits and good works into a substitute for faith, and a counterfeit “freedom” that excuses compromise with spiritual-sounding phrases. Both can lead to a fake version of Christianity that looks close enough to pass at first glance, while quietly killing trust in Jesus.

Then we check out Ephesians 6 and the reality of the unseen battle against spiritual forces. The solution is not paranoia, it’s clarity: testing our lives by Scripture, rebuilding prayer and fasting, and bringing hidden compromises into the light through repentance. If you’ve ever wondered how to know whether your faith is authentic, or how to stop drifting before the damage spreads, this is a hard but hopeful listen. • Rethinking Success Through Scripture

    What Then Say You?

Success can feel like a spiritual word, but most of us define it with a secular scoreboard: money, titles, comfort, influence, and visible wins. We sit with the tension that happens when that definition slips into Christian life, shaping how we judge ourselves, raise our kids, and even evaluate churches. When faith becomes a path to “the good life,” it’s easy to start co-signing God onto whatever we’re chasing and calling it blessing, favor, or prosperity.

We walk straight into that misconception and pull it apart with Scripture. Joshua 1 is a pivotal anchor, one of the few places the Bible directly connects “success” to a clear condition: obedience to God’s Word, meditation on it, and courage rooted in God’s presence. That pushes us to ask hard questions about motive and source. Are we chasing outcomes that feed the flesh and labeling them spiritual? Are we measuring the Christian walk by numbers and applause, or by faithfulness, repentance, and love for God and neighbor?

How does prosperity, breakthrough, and the blessing culture, compare to what Jesus says about anxiety and provision in Matthew 6:33. We also talk about freedom in Christ as a daily choice to serve the good Master, not a permission slip to do whatever feels good. If you’ve ever wondered why “being blessed” still leaves you restless, this conversation offers a clear, convicting reset.

  • Salvation Is Not Passive, So Now What

    What Then Say You?

If you’ve ever wondered why you still struggle after you “did all the right things,” you’re not alone. We sit down as husband and wife and get honest about a misconception that quietly breaks a lot of believers: the idea that salvation means growth will just happen to you while you wait. We talk about the tension between grace and effort, why “trying” is not automatically legalism, and how real Christian discipleship requires awake, daily participation with the Holy Spirit.

We lean on Ephesians 6 and the Armor of God, using a soldier analogy that makes it click: nobody goes to war wearing gym clothes with a single weapon. You gear up, on purpose. Paul’s language is the same, take it up, put it on, carry it, stand. We also take on the shallow version of “it is finished” and ask the hard question: finished for what? We connect Hebrews, James, and Romans 13 to show how faith and obedience work together, why “make no provision for the flesh” is so direct, and how God’s light exposes what we keep trying to excuse.

Then we bring it into real life: phones, ads, scrolling, desires that start small and end up owning your attention. Spiritual warfare often feels like an insurgency, constant, subtle, hard to identify, and exhausting. We close by reframing holiness as servanthood, resisting the urge to treat people like the enemy, and choosing to stay children of the day who are aware, accountable, and ready to love the person in front of us.

  • Rededication Starts Where Routine Ends: Day 8

    What Then Say You?

What if your brightest spiritual moment isn’t Christmas morning but a quiet Wednesday in August? We open Numbers 7:84–8:4 and track the line from dedication offerings and the hammered gold of the menorah to a modern life that burns steady long after the season fades. The story of rededication in Hanukkah becomes more than history; it becomes a pattern for clearing idols, tending the flame, and letting the Holy Spirit keep our inner house lit and occupied.

Along the way, we ask searching questions. Does your February look like Christmas in your spirit? Do your words, habits, and budgets reflect a life purchased with a price? We contrast the aroma of ancient sacrifices with the living aroma of surrendered lives, and we follow the center light of the menorah as a picture of the Helper who keeps us bright. If you’ve felt the letdown after the lights come down, this conversation offers a way forward: rededication as a lifestyle, joy that endures, and a lamp aimed at what’s ahead.

  • You Were Not A People, Now You Are God’s People| Day 7

    What Then Say You?

A single passage can reset our posture. We open 1 Peter 2:4–10 and find the heartbeat of Hanukkah’s rededication pulsing through the church today: living stones aligned to the Cornerstone, a royal priesthood called to proclaim light in a time that often prefers heat.

We also face the hard noise around Israel, Jews, and Christians in the wake of recent violence and online hostility. Being grafted in never meant erasing Israel or weaponizing Scripture. It meant mercy for those who once were not a people, and a summons to carry that mercy into conversations that easily turn cruel. If we belong to Jesus, our words should not become stumbling blocks. We steward our title—ambassadors of the kingdom—with a steady reverence that resists contempt and chooses truth with grace.

  • When Heaven Seems Quiet, His Promises Still Stand| Day 6

    What Then Say You?

What if the quiet seasons aren’t empty, but holy ground? We step into the space often called the 400 years of silence and discover how Hanukkah, the courage of the Maccabees, and a simple reading in Numbers 7 teach us to trust God when new words feel scarce and old promises still hold. This is a journey through rededication: refusing idolatry, recovering focus, and returning to the last clear thing God said.

When silence presses in, revisit the last assignment God gave you. If memory blurs, open Scripture and read until conviction finds you. Learn to hear in stillness—on a walk in the woods, in a pause between messages, in the space where distractions thin. Rededication is not a one-time story; it is a rhythm of repentance, renewal, and action.

If this message meets you in a quiet patch, you’re not alone. Subscribe for more daily reflections during Hanukkah, share this with someone who needs courage, and leave a review to help others find hope in the silence. What’s the last clear word you need to obey today?

  • From Hanukkah To John 3:16: Choosing Light Over Darkness| Day 5

    What Then Say You?

A lamp can light a room, but only truth can light a life. We take the story of Hanukkah’s rededication and hold it up to the lens of John 3:16—plus the often-missed verses that follow—to ask a harder question: do we really want the light, or just the comfort of a familiar glow?

If you’ve ever wondered how to reconcile tradition with transformation, or why some sins feel small while others feel beyond forgiveness, this conversation offers a clear, compassionate framework. We emphasize renewing the mind, trading comparison for conviction, and choosing trust over performance. Rituals like Hanukkah, Shabbat, and Passover become meaningful signs only when they echo a heart that yields to the Savior who came not to condemn, but to save!
