When it comes to employees resigning: "It's happened before, and it will happen again" . Even though it may really hurt at the time, try not to take it personally. People move on.Be as transparent as possible with your Team. Keeping morale high is particularly important when someone resigns.Be transparent with your Clients. You need to plan for the transition. Put pen to paper and map out the resignation period to minimise disruption to the business.Stay Focussed on Team Morale! Unhappy Team Members don't treat their Clients as well as Happy Team Members do. Keep lines of communication open with your Team.There are so many lessons that you can learn as the Business Owner when a Team Member leaves. Try to stay positive so those lessons are observable and actionable.Provide clear expectations in regards to workmanship and behaviour to the staff member that is leaving during their notice period. Also, dig into the depth of their position, so any non-obvious job roles (f/e helping create ideas for Social Media posts) can be documented and passed along to another capable staff member, where appropriate. Conduct an Exit Interview. It might be scary to open yourself up to potential criticism, but you're going to learn a lot about your business, your management style, and yourself.
