Dr. Bell teaches the things we choose not to do. Religious people make excuses for not doing the things that they do not want to do. Usually, these are things that hinder others. In questioning whether Jesus should heal on the Sabbath Day was questioning if Jesus should love the man with the withered hand on the Sabbath Day. Folks become too religious and miss the point of Christ. We sometimes can become too deep and miss the mark. Instead of noticing the restraints of the man they focused on accusing Jesus of doing something wrong. They should have been more focused on healing the man so that he could live a productive life.
Religious leaders focus on the laws that man has set in place rather than the spirit of God restoring man. Religion would rather point fingers at the man than do anything for the man that may cause independence. Religion seeks oppression. The spirit of God is liberty.
