Unmet expectations. AKA—The silent killer of relationships.

When we go into a marriage, we automatically have these expectations of what things SHOULD look like. We expect our finances to be done our way, our sex life to be perfect, the house to be spotless, and a hot meal on the table waiting for us each and every night.

While all of that sounds great, having unrealistic expectations—and especially when those expectations are left uncommunicated—easily leads to resentment.

Taking a step back to re-evaluate can and will be a game-changer. Asking yourself questions like: Are my expectations irrational? Do I have a fairytale idea of what this relationship is supposed to look like?
