What You Should Know Before Buying A Vacant Or Abandoned Property

Buying your next property and making some progress is better than no progress at all, but that doesn’t always yield success. Buying vacant or abandoned properties is not something you jump into with both feet, blind but optimistic. You have to take time to learn about the landscape and jump into it when you have a bit of muscle build from acquiring some foundational education, tips, tricks and guidance, even from a mentor. This will help you know which vacant and abandoned properties are worth pursuing. Not every property is worth pursuing, let alone buying. You have to have the foresight in mind to plan strategically and the weight of the knowledge you have acquired will help you flow through the rocky pastures that you will encounter at one point or another.

Lack of foresight on the after-repair value (ARV), not doing the math, and poor strategic planning can all change your rehab and maintenance costs, which can make your vacant property sweet deal go sour very quickly.
