Recently, I was on a walk talking with God about this next season of my life. I knew He was calling me forward, yet I could feel both excitement and fear competing for my attention. That’s when He brought to mind the image of a roller coaster.
The interesting thing about a roller coaster is that you can experience the exact same ride in a few different ways: you can ride the ride and feel absolutely terrified, or you can feel exhilarated! You can also refuse to get on at all. Yet they’re all on the exact same ride. Not all fear is created equal and the goal isn’t to eliminate fear, but to understand what it’s trying to tell you.
In this episode, we’re talking about fear, faith, and how to discern what your fear is actually trying to tell you. Some fear is a warning. Some fear reveals a limiting belief. And some fear simply shows up when you’re standing at the edge of growth. The goal isn’t to eliminate fear—it’s learning how to interpret it so you can move forward with confidence. The roller coaster will always have climbs, drops, twists and turns. Faith doesn’t remove those things, but it changes the opportunity of how you can experience them.
