In some church traditions, each weekend people will turn to each other and say "Peace be with you." If you grew up in a church like that, did you ever wonder why you didn't just turn and say "hello" to each other? In the second week of Advent, we turn our attention and focus to the theme of peace because this was one of Jesus' primary purposes for coming. In a day when it seems like our world is in short supply of peace, Jesus came to give it abundantly and meet one of our deepest needs.
