I know I have many times. I believe it's because we tell ourselves that the end goal/receiving whatever it is we have desired will eventually make us happy. It turns out that really, the journey of getting there, has kept us distracted. It distracted us from ourselves and our internal world. Once we arrive at the final destination, we then have this free space and time to sit with our thoughts and for a lot of us, that doesn't feel nice. So we will then set off on another goal, another distraction.
