What’s on my mind this month is our tremendous leadership in science and medicine, as evidenced by a number of discoveries and innovations by our faculty, making us “first” in many areas.

What’s on my mind this month is the importance of keeping our patients within the University of Maryland family by referring them to each other within the various practice groups.

What’s on my mind this month is the human embryonic stem cell research. In the near future, President Barack Obama is widely expected to lift the ban on federal funding for human embryonic stem cell research, which has been in place since 2001 and has limited federal funding to only 21 existing lines.
