We'll end the year on with a couple of beers from two of our favorite breweries.  Martin brought 3 Fonteinen Prium Mirabelle blend no 25. This geuze has Mirabelle plums added and was added to Olorosso barrels. This is one of our favorite blends that 3F makes. Stefan brought Lervig Silent Exchange by Rackhourse. The Rackhouse series is an outstanding line from Lervig. They always bring a high level of quality and flavor. Silent Exchange is a collaboration with Pohjala. They take the imperial stout and blend Finnish rye, maple syrup and put it in bourbon barrels. Have a happy holidays every and we'll see you in 2025.

All good things must come to an end and on day 24 of our 2024 Advent Calendar, we are going our in style. Närke Kulturebryggeri has released several Kaggen Stormaktsporters over the years. This 2021 edition is the Skotsk-Kaggen Stormaktsporter. It's their traditional imperial stout aged on Scotch whiskey barrels. What a great end to a wonder calendar. Have a happy holidays!

Advent 2024 Day 23 is the penultimate day of our little calendar. Dugges has been making lots of IPAs, sours and big imperial stouts. This little gem is a bourbon barrel-aged vanilla and chocolate stout. Lxy is rich and delicious with loads of vanilla and aged on Heaven Hill barrels for 36 months. Then they add grounded Standout Chocolate Dominican Republic cocoa nibs.

Advent 2024 Day 22 is the antepenultimate beer in our calendar. Ryssby Bryggeri continues our Swedish theme with a beer that asked a simple question, What the HELLES? This kolsch beer keeps it simple with a light, refreshing beer that is probablyl better on a warm summer day than a cold winter night.

Advent 2024 Day 21 is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. Moody Tongue Bourbon Barrel Aged Gingerbread Imperial Stout from 2018 is bringing the holiday cheer. Moody Tongue Brewing Company is a micro brewery out of Chicago. This imperial stout has cinnamon and vanilla and is aged for 12 months on Heaven Hill bourbon barrels.

Advent 2024 Day 20 keeps it simple. Swedish nano brewery Potum is just getting started. Their No Rain is a 5.3% ABV helles. Simple clean and drinkable...but also our most controverisal beer of the calendar.

Advent 2024 Day 19 is a favorite of ours, the pastry sour. Mortalis Echidna is a fruited smoothie sour blending coconut, mango, kiwi, banana and pineapple. It's a total fruit smoothie with a 7% AVB. Mortalis does great pastry sours and this really hits the spot.

Advent 2024 Day 18 has us celler diving. We go waaaaaaaaaay back in time to find a classic beer. This Greene King Strong Suffolk Vintage Ale is from 2007. At only 6% ABV, should it really have been cellared so long? We had to find out. In 2013, this beer was renamed to Strong Suffolk Dark Ale. It might be the oldest beer we've ever reviewed.

Advent 2024 Day 17 brings us another Oberoende beer. This time from Nyköping Brewing Co. Oberoende Rököl is a smoked beer made with beachwood smoked malts, Munich malts and dehusked black malk. Then they add some Magnum hops. The result is a lightly smoked easy drinking smoked beer.

Advent 2024 Day 16 features a blond.  Vreta kloster Bryggeri is one of the many participants in the independent brewery releases. There are around 30 beers released so far. Oberoende belgisk blond is a 6.6% ABV Belgian blonde. They are really great at deep diving into traditional Belgian styles. We always look forward to their releases.
