Mikkeller has always been know to play around and experiment with water treatment, hops levels, yeast strains, just about anything you can do with a beer. They released two beers featuring experimental hops just to see how people respond to them. Experimental Hop Project: HBC 522 is session IPA coming in at just 3.8%. It's a full of fruity, cereal flavors and shows lots of promise. Experimental Hop Project: HBC 472 is a standard IPA with notes of pine and herbs. Both are exciting entries into the beer world

It's the De Moersleutel 4 Year Anniversary collection! And what an amazing four years it's been. We start with an Aperitif, a strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and blueberry sour ale. That's followed with a Starter, a double IPA. Then comes Dinner, a barrel aged imperial stout. We follow all that up with Dessert, an 18% freeze-distilled coffee beer. Needless to say, we were stuffed after our four course meal.

During Covid times we aren't seeing as many collab beers as we used to. Sure we're getting the rebrewing of a recipe to show support for breweries and Black Lives Matter, but we aren't getting team ups. Fortunately Wylam and Apex have teamed up to create In Defiance of Gravity, an IPA with Galaxy, BRU 1 and Simcoe hops. We follow that up with one of the first IPAs from Demoersleutel we've tried. Circumspect is a yummy, delicious DIPA.

We are rolling in Helsingborg again. This time we hit up a fun bar called Skip. It's like an up-end dive bar. Industrial, metal, concrete, it feels like something is about to happen at any minute. This episode we review Clown Shoes Space Cake, a classic west coast style DIPA. It's big malty with a slight caramel aftertaste. That's followed up by Polish brewers Funky Fluid.  Freaky is a hazy IPA that uses Strata hops, along with several other hops to create a very tasty beer.

Omnipollo has been putting out a lot of beers recently. Thanks to their webshop, we've been able to get a lot of their stuff in Sweden, which hasn't always been the case. Martin got his hands on two beers that seem to compliment each other. Both are pale ales with a slight difference. Squares is an New England pale ale and Spirals is an American pale ale. What's the difference you ask? You'll have to listen to fin out.

We finally made it out of Malmö and travelled a short train trip up north to Helsingborg. It's a lovely seaside town with a lot of great bars and breweries. We check out the latest brewery/bar to open called Benchwarmers. Benchwarmers opened a few months ago and the brewery itself is just a couple of years old. If you are looking for good beer, pizza and nachos with an amazing view, you need to stop here. We reviewed Brekeriet Vild Coulis - Benchwarmers Midnight Swagger while we were there.

We get to review two of our favorite breweries. Verdant's Track and Field is a big DIPA made with Simcoe and Mosaic hops. It's a big, delicious treat of a beer. You can't ask for more until you get Evil Twin NYC's I Instantly Get Annoyed By Any Hybrid Food Creation No Matter How Delicious It Sounds. This is an insanely good TIPA made with Citra and Riwaka hops. HOLY COW...is this an insanely good beer. At only 10.1% abv, you'll happily crush this and wonder why you're waking up on the floor.

We haven't had a brewer on the show in quite some time. We are super excited to have an up and coming home brewer on the show. Marcus Sandberg, a.k.a. Frosty Beard Brewery, is on the cusp of going from home brewer to professional brewer. He makes amazing beers and we got to try his hazy dipa called One Is Medical, Two Is Magical. We try it against a collaboration between Stigbergets and North Brewing called Hop Selection IPA. Can an indie brewer compete against professionals?

As June comes to an end, we wanted to go out with a big bang. Omnipollo released Lorelie for the first time in four years into Systembolaget. Stefan happened to have a bottle from the first release four years ago. We couldn't pass up the chance to compare the 2016 vs the 2020 version of the beer. How has the beer changed and does the latest batch live up the memories of the past? You'll find out as Stefan and Martin compare  Omnipollo Lorelei 2016 vs Lorelie 2020.

We love our Swedish breweries and we are excited to bring you these two. Narke Kulturbryggeri  has been around for awhile and they make some truly great beers. They aren't as well known or flashy as some of the newer brewiers but they make some great beers. We tried Utgard Vitmolska (Yard White Braggot), a wheat braggot. We follow that up with a beer from Akia Brygghus,  Simekumos is a double IPA that shows this young brewery is ready for the big time.
