This year, my dad's made it his own tradition to ask family members to talk about life history. So I figured for his birthday I'd ask him about his. See the thing about my dad is...he TALKS π Give him an inch, and he'll take a few miles ON GAWD! Ask him two question, we talk for two hours π€£ I got the history, and the history before the history π― so thankfully this was at night otherwise it would've been an 8 hr recording π Enjoy ππΎ&π‘
Now we could talk about his experience at a predominantly white seminary, or even him and his wife finding a large check that was almost 5 or 6 years old...but I learned something more important...YEAH I SAID...from my conversation with brother Isaiah Hampton (Instagram: @zay_rell23). I learned about perspective, and I re-evaluated what it means to have real joy; the type joy that supersedes how one feels, what one has, and what people think about you. REAL JOY.Β
Let me paint the picture for y'all! It's probably 10 p.m. on a weekend...me minding my own business in my room...when suddenly my sister, Dami (Instagram: @_lola.bee_) barges into my room claiming that she's gonna "Whoop me at Uno π," so I did what anyone naturally would; I set up and microphone of us playing 10 or 11 games, and asked her what was on her mind obviously π . She talks about where she'd go if COVID wasn't still a thing, as well as highlighting her crazy story of going to Transformation Church back in February.Β
Don't let all the hysterical laughing fool you...I promise you all that me and @steph.thegreat are actually having a serious conversation ππSteph (Instagram: @steph.thegreat) talks about her heart to witness to others as a #RelatableChristian, we share our opinions on what effective witnessing looks like in this day & age as a millenial/Gen Z, and last but not least...you guessed it, SHORT MEN ππ NO MEN BELOW 5' 7" WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS PODCAST π€£π€£π€£
On this episode, my regular-smegular-degular friend Ralph Belony Jr. (Instagram: @ralphbelonyjr) and I dives deep into a discussion about cultivating healthy, fruitful male relationships, and how being exposed to diverse experiences can equip us for the road ahead, whether we know it or not.
There's so much that can be said about Kim (Instagram: @kim.erly).
- She's a 21-year old graduate student!
- She graduated college with a double major in 3 years!
- She's a business owner & youth minister (Instagram: @youngpeoplescry_)!
While most of us (myself included) would see that as an immaculate resume for a future leader, in this talk that we have, we discuss her struggles with being a leader and and the all-too-common feelings of insecurity that come from not feeling qualified for the things you feel called to do.
Had the pleasure of having my big bro Timi Vaughan (Instagram: @timinottimothy) on, discussing what anti-racism looks like in the wake of everything that's been happening in 2020, and how public health has gotten it wrong when it comes to Β racial perceptions.
