The Hebrew word for perseverance has a physical action behind it that has been very meaningful to me in times of suffering. It goes hand in hand with another word that's very encouraging, but that translators struggle to convey. If you're going through a hard time I hope this short talk brings you strength and comfort. Remember, both Simon and Judas failed the Messiah, but one kept going. I'm praying for you, that you'll be able to keep going too. This is a takeaway from my newest Hebrew Verses study. We also talked about how having "shalom with God" means you can bring your whole self into the relationship and be 100% real with him, how Hassidic Jews are a profound picture of New Testament grace, why the Hebrew word for reconciliation has so much wisdom for relationships, and I also told a couple personal stories about reading word by word through the Torah for the first time, and memorizing whole books of the New Testament during my Bible quizzing days at the Alliance church.
