We start a new series of uprooting covert sins and the first sin we tackle is Greed. In the previous episode we talked about how greed plays into the rising gas prices so it is fitting to discuss greed as the first covert sin to uproot. 

In this episode we talk about what is greed and how it manifests in our daily lives. We may not know that we are being greedy and there are so many actions we do that may not seem greedy but actually stem from a place of greed. It's important to talk about what greed is so we can answer the question of how to hold it captive. We cannot do anything without God but we talk about practical ways on how to hold greed captive.

Gas prices has been increasing all over the world. In this episode, we discuss how the price of gas is determined. We talk about who determines this and why the prices fluctuate so dramatically. We also discuss what we can do to help. 

As stewards of God's kingdom, we need to also be mindful of how we are impacting the environment. We need to understand our role in preserving God's creation. By understanding the logic behind gas prices, we can make informed decisions in how we can make help make changes.

We end our Bible characters series with Paul. In the last episode we talked about a background on Paul but on this episode we talk more about his ministry. Paul was persecuting Christians left and right but God changed his life. He ended up writing over half of the New Testament. Through Paul's life and ministry, we can see that Paul loved and understood people more because he knew how broken he was and what God saved him from. 

Paul is most known for his writings but he was also very famous for his evangelism all over the world. He was teaching and preparing missionaries to spread the word of God. People were inspired by Paul because even when he was in prison, he was writing. He accepted his weaknesses and his flaws because he knows that God is greater that his weaknesses and flaws. 

Listen in as we talk about Paul's weaknesses as well as the 5 C's that embody Paul's strengths. You will also hear us talk about how to be more like Paul in today's world.

We discuss one of the most famous characters of the Bible. He wrote over half of the New Testament. Paul's testimony and the story of his life is so amazing because it shows us that God can really use anyone for his glory. Paul used to be a Pharisee. He was part of the religious council and persecuted Christians after Jesus' death. But God turned his life around. The same intensity he had in persecuting Christians was the same intensity Paul had when he ministered and spread God's word after his conversion.

Stephen is one of the most selfless characters in the Bible. He might have been the first martyr after Jesus. He was one of the 7 deacons chosen by the apostles. Although he was young, he was very knowledgeable and active in the ministry. Stephen was willing to be used by God and he was killed because he would not stop talking about God. Even on his last breath, Stephen was selfless and humble. 

In this episode, Harold Ledda talks about his experience in Saudi Arabia when he was imprisoned for starting a church there. Tune in to see what he felt and how God got him through the most impossible situation.

Philip is one of those characters in the Bible who aren't really talked about much but he had such an important role too. He was one of the seven deacons appointed by the first Christian church. He had an administrative role but he ended up becoming an evangelist and ministered to people also. He was very influential in witnessing to a man from Ethiopia that this could have been one of the people who brought Christianity to Africa.
Philip had an admin role in the church but he was known for his evangelism. Evangelizing is one our duties. We don't need titles nor do we lack opportunities. We don't have an excuse to NOT spread God's word.

In this episode we have lots of guests! Our entire family joins us on this Christmas tradition that we have done when we were children. Before we opened presents we had to answer the question, "What does Christmas mean to you?" It was amazing to have everyone chime in. At the end of the day, Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus who came to die for our sins. It's about giving because HE gave first.

In this episode we talk about Mary, the mother of Jesus. We discuss why Mary was chosen to be Jesus' earthly mother. There could have been many other women but God chose Mary for her character, her heart, and her faith. It was not easy to go through what she had to go through because she had to accept the ridicule and humiliation from society from people who couldn't believe of the virgin birth. We also talk about attributes Mary possesses that we should all try to emulate today.

Peter was one of the most prominent disciples. He was all in for Jesus but can also be "all out" so quickly. We talk about why he was chosen as a disciple. We also discuss his ministry after Jesus' ascension and why a commoner like Peter was tasked to preach to the Jews, who were the most knowledgeable about the law at that time. Peter preached about child-like faith and this is one of the most important aspects of our walk with God.

Jesus is different because not only did he die for us but He resurrected and ascended to Heaven as well. These two things that happened after his death are just as important because it sets Him apart from any deity that people worship. 

In this episode, we discuss in detail what the resurrection and ascension of Jesus really means for us today. He had to be perfectly human and perfectly divine in order to pay the penalty for sin. But He also had to show his origin by ascending. We also talk about the Great Commission and why we are called to spread His word throughout the nations. At the end of the day, history is really HIS story!
