Why is Christmas so important? Why did God need to come in human form to save humanity? How is Christ the perfect gift?

These are some questions we discuss in part 3 of our Christmas series. In the time before Christ was born, people were expectant of a Messiah. Today, while we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we are also expecting. But what we are expecting is Jesus' second coming. 

God is a great gift-giver but a horrible gift wrapper. (Watch the episode to see why that is) Our imperfection needs the perfection of Christ.

Who are the characters in the Christmas story? Why are they important? What can we learn from them? These are some questions we will answer in today's episode of part 2 of our Christmas series. We talk about why it is important to not only celebrate Jesus in this season but to also talk about the other characters who all play an important role in the Christmas story.

What is Christmas really all about? What are we commemorating during this time? Why has Christmas become so commercialized? These are some questions we discuss in the first episode of a 4 part series on Christmas. Our focus should be on WHO we are celebrating not just the celebration itself.

Sports and fame can be used for Christ. Athletes are one of the most sought after individuals even in the business world because of the traits they have such as perseverance, determination, dedication, and ability to work with a team. Fame will not be a problem if we give God the glory and we just enjoy the blessing. Many famous people use their platform to glorify God! 

What are talents and gifts? How can we use the gifts we are given to best serve God's kingdom? These are some questions we discuss in this week's episode. We need to discover our gifts and make sure we are using the gift to glorify and further God's kingdom. But we need to also make sure to not let comparison creep in because we all have been given unique talents. 

Prayer is our line of communication with God. Some people say prayer changes things but prayer actually changes us. What do we do in times when God is intentionally silent? Maybe we need to stop asking "why" but instead ask WHAT we need to change? Let us continue to pray FIT (with faith, intensity, and tenacity)!

This week we discuss prayer. Prayer is our communication with God. It is important because just like we communicate with family, friends, and peers, we also need to be communicating with God daily. What we pray for is secondary to HOW we pray.  Every prayer usually has:

P- praising
R- repentance
A- asking
Y- yielding

We talk about why Christian values are important in society in general. We also discuss the upcoming US presidential elections and what Christians should be doing at this time. As Americans we are given the right to vote and we must exercise this right because many people in other countries do not have this same privilege. We must pray and do our own due diligence regarding each candidate but continue to stay united despite differing political views. We discuss the 3 C's that will help you discern how to vote for the upcoming elections.

We talk about what it means to bear fruit and why it is important. Qualitative fruit is an outward expression of an inward change like being more kind, honest, etc. Quantitative fruit is the people that you minister to and help bring to Jesus. Both of these are important. We talk about issues a society can face and even issues in the church as well.

This week we talk about the importance of grace and how we should live by grace. We discuss that we need to show grace to ourselves and to others just as God showed grace to us. We must also be mindful not to abuse the grace we were given.
