Debbi Andrews lost her children in a house fire 30 years ago. 3 years ago she met Linda Kennedy Hassel, a licensed clinical therapist who offers grief counseling. When Debbie learned that Linda lost her daughter at a young age as well, it explained her gentle understanding and compassionate kindness. These women walked the same journey separately. They didn’t want another mother who suffers the loss of a child to have to walk the journey alone. A Shield Of Angels was born.

Forums are being held to allow an opportunity for residents to share their concerns. Reporters then follow up on root causes and potential solutions for Pennsylvania’s urban challenges.

Part 2 – WHYY Reporter Marielle Segarra talks about the reporter’s role and follow-up to issues and suggested solutions that are discussed at the forum.

Randall Simmons starts a non-profit www.weagapeyou.org. He invites everyone to share in and show agape love. He says the mission is to show Christ-like love for any and everyone without judgement. His first focus is to get the homeless out of tents and off the streets. The community is responding and so are the homeless. We agape you, in conjunction with nearly a dozen Reading churches, is working with the city of Reading to orchestrate a clean-up campaign that incorporates the efforts of homeless individuals. Their work builds self-esteem and an opportunity to earn shelter. Two houses on North Eighth Street have been donated and need renovation. Find out how you can be part of the mission.
