This is the famous chapter of Jonah inside the belly of the fish. He is suffering in difficulty, living in disobedience, and feeling far away from God. The Lord has caused all of this to happen to continue His work of changing Jonah's Heart. Jonah goes through a "Dark Night of The Soul" to rediscover God's goodness and grace.

The book of Jonah is all about The Lord working in us to give us a Heart that Fears His Name. In C.1, we are introduced to Jonah, a prophet who is disobedient and rejects God's mission for him. The Lord does not give up on Jonah for running away; instead, this simply begins The Lord's work of changing Jonah's heart.
