What's Up Omaha with Small Guy Promotions

It was great to chat with Beth about her new venture with Rebel Rise GF Bistro & Bakery. I think this will help a lot of people with Celiac relax and breathe a little easier knowing they have more food options.Rebel Rise GF Bistro & Bakery:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rebelrisegf/?fbclid=IwY2xjawLzdtZleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFCWUVJVldTY3RsT1NvVGVkAR4kJRqqAbfXUWfNwjYFgpqlkw-Qxz8lFyNID5ek2Uxv2EFtoEtjPLd54AWPRA_aem_NDB0TtUc03zyo6clnBA6dg#Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61568176226031Website: https://rebelrisegf.com/Small Guy Promotions:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/smallguypro...TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@smallguypromo...LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/smal...Twitter: https://twitter.com/SmallGuyPromo13Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/smallguypromoYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/smallguypromoWebsite: https://www.smallguypromo.com/

My daughter, Jamelah, joined me to talk about an issue she has been having with Hastings College regarding their required $6,000 meal plan for freshmen and sophomores. She met with college staff to discuss her concerns as she will be living in a campus apartment next year that has a kitchenette, so she feels that she will not need the meal plan. She only used about $1,000 of the meal plan this year proving that it isn't necessary for her. That doesn't matter to the campus because of, "Policy" and "That's the way it has always been." How that is satisfactory is something we can't wrap our heads around. This appears to be a situation where the school is trying to stash extra cash as there are other classmates that feel the same way and experienced the same thing. Why not roll the money over? They don't even have the ability to treat someone else to lunch with the money they have on their books. That's crazy! We wanted to share this story to help educate others that may be considering higher education and don't know how things may work. Hastings College:Phone: 800-532-7642Address: 710 N. Joe Secord stopped by What's Up Omaha to talk about his business and love for nostalgia of the Omaha area. Maybe you've heard of Made in South Omaha, Positively Papillion or Memories in Omaha. Those are just a few of the names that Joe and his family are behind.

Joe's mom, dad, and wife have all played roles in this passion. Talk about a family business! I hope you enjoy this episode and are able to think back to a wonderful memory from your past even if it isn't of a place in Omaha.

What's Up Omaha isn't going anywhere! I'm still here, but life is busy. I am still podcasting, just maybe not every week. If it was my job, it would be easy to do.

In today's podcast, I'm talking about the local Jiu-Jitsu community and how it would be nice if we could cross train more often. After conversations with others that feel the same way, I thought I should talk about it. Enjoy!

S/O to Jason, Ryan, Tim and all the others that welcomed me!
