Even before I started searching for Karen I found myself wondering about the lack of an obvious male equivalent.  Was there no Ken to her Barbie?  Are there male Karens, and if so, what do we call them?

Before there was Karen, there was Becky.   Maybe understanding Karen’s back story, or in this case, her “Beck-story”, will shed some light on who Karen is, where she comes from, and “What’s up with Karen?”

For today’s episode of WUWK?!  I decided to recruit some new voices for your listening pleasure.  So far, you’ve been listening to a mixture of 15 different white women’s voices talking about race, racism and all things Karen.  Which is why I reckon it’s time to welcome some men’s voices into the mix.  I’ve asked them to help me share the story of Becky, Karen’s predecessor.  With their help and the work of Michael Harriot, it should be a little more fun to talk about different forms that Beckys and Karens can take.
