On August 29th Adobe released updates to both the iOS and Android versions of Adobe Lightroom.

Yesterday Auphonic posted an update to their web service, which can be used via the mobile app called Auphonic Edit. According to the developer, the app is a non-destructive audio editor and recorder with a focus on ease of use, high-quality audio and stability. In combination with the integrated Auphonic web service, you can post-process, encode, tag and publish your podcasts, interviews, and music recordings on the go with a single click.

Alight Motion for Android was updated to version 1.3 on August 24th. The app is described as the first pro motion graphics app for your smartphone, bringing you professional-quality animation, motion graphics, visual effects, video editing, and video compositing.

New features in the update include colorize, color tune, and mozaic effects. The Scale feature was also updated, along with some other performance improvements.

Today I want to talk about Giphy. Or maybe some of you call it “Jiffy”. But I say “animated gif” so I’m going to call the app Giphy. This app is available on both Android and iOS. According to the developer’s description, Giphy is the world’s largest library of animated GIFs, now on your mobile phone!

The app was updated on September 1st to include a new stories feature. Giphy says “Whether it’s a TV recap, sports highlight, or viral internet meme, Giphy is bringing you the lowdown on what’s happening in culture now. Check it out on the new home screen.

Well, I did check it out, and found the feature to be pretty similar to stories in Snapchat or Instagram. A series of animated gifs play in succession, and they can have captions below. So, as the name implies, the new feature does have the potential to tell more of a story than a single gif alone.
