The United States government officially shut down at midnight today after Republicans and Democrats failed to reach a budget agreement in the Senate. New York Governor Kathy Hochul addressed the shutdown this morning in a press conference. WFUV’s Sienna Reinders reports.

New York City Rent stabilized apartments are getting a price hike. Starting tomorrow, renters will have a 3% increase on one-year leases and a 4.5% rise on two-year leases. This applies to about 1 million apartments across the city.
