We've all been here before: that moment of excitement when you find out a BL you love is getting a second season. The hype that comes from the filming timeline and promotional releases. Seeing a pairing you loved acting together again. Only for the final product to be... mid at best.

It's seems like there are very few instances where BL has actually gotten the second season right and we need to talk about why. Whether it's the inability to effectively add on to what was a finished story, the destruction of all the original character development, or something else entirely... there's so many factors and we only touch on a few of them here.
