Amber King started her marketing agency at 19 and scaled it to $30,000/month in just six months. No fancy sales tactics, no pretending to be someone she's not. Just a simple offer, a lot of cold calls, and a completely different approach to sales.
In this episode of What's Working, I sit down with Amber to break down exactly how she built her roofing marketing agency, the 3-step offer that gets roofers interested, and the cold calling framework she uses to book appointments.
We also get into why she focuses on one niche, how she handles rejection, why she moved away from AI appointment setters, and why being brutally honest with prospects might actually be your biggest advantage as a beginner.
One of my favorite conversations we've had on the channel about sales, building an agency, and figuring out what actually works.

Most agency owners are obsessed with getting more clients. But what happens when your agency grows to the point where you can't keep up?
In this episode of What's Working, I sat down with Jess Cotter, who built an agency to 380 clients and multiple six figures a month before eventually selling it.
The interesting part? She actually shut down her first agency after burning herself out. So when she started again, she did things completely differently.
We talk about the systems that allowed her to scale without being glued to her phone, why focusing on one niche and one offer made such a big difference, and what agency owners should actually be working on at $10K, $20K, and $100K+ per month.
We also get into hiring, client retention, SOPs, and why getting more clients won't fix a business that's already broken.
If you're building an agency and want to avoid creating a job you can't escape from, this is a good one.

Most people trying to sell GoHighLevel as a full CRM struggle.
Charles Higgins somehow made it work.
He’s built Pinnacle AI to over 250 active paying subscribers and $45,000+ in monthly recurring revenue without a big audience, without a sales team, and without spending money on paid ads.
His sales team is basically his website.
In this episode of What’s Working, Charles breaks down how he got his first customers through online networking and partnerships, why he targets people who already understand CRMs, how he built an affiliate program with hundreds of affiliates, and why he cares way more about keeping customers than constantly finding new ones.
That last part is probably the craziest thing about his business.
They finished last year at just 2.7% annual churn.
We also get into his onboarding, support, content strategy, prerecorded sales demo, pricing, and why beginners probably shouldn’t copy his exact model.
The biggest takeaway from this one is pretty simple: pick a lane, solve one problem, keep your offer simple, and stop rebuilding your business every time you watch another YouTube video.
Charles has built one of the more interesting HighLevel businesses I’ve seen, and there’s a lot to steal from how he thinks about SaaS, retention, and building a business around the life he actually wants.

I had Frankie Finn back on for another episode of What’s Working.
The first time I interviewed Frankie, it ended up being one of the most popular videos I’ve done. So this time I wanted to do something a little different.
Instead of going through his story again, we basically sat down and compared notes.
We each brought some of the best ideas we’ve seen for building an agency across three things:
Offers. Getting clients. Keeping clients.
18 ideas total.
Some of them are really simple. Some are a little weird. And some of them would have saved me a lot of time when I was running my agency.
We talk about better ways to package your offer, how to make outreach feel less like outreach, why I think YouTube is one of the best ways to get clients, and the little things that make clients stick around longer.
If you’re building an agency or selling HighLevel, there are a lot of things in this one worth stealing.

Six agency owners making $24K to $1M+ a month sat down and each shared their top three ways to get clients right now. This is how to get clients for GoHighLevel in 2026, straight from people doing it today.
Justin Silverman (Merchynt) opens with the simplest one: post on LinkedIn and tell your network what you're building — that's how a high-school classmate texted him a lead ten years later. Clay Lawrence walks through the "day in the life" videos that turned strangers into clients, then closes with the tactic he calls his real number one: a $27-a-month local podcast that gets business owners so excited about themselves they hand over their card before the recording ends. Jasper Aiken shares the printed gifts that landed clients for less than a Meta ad — custom mugs, a $15 box of cookies, even a Sasquatch T-shirt he still talks about. Hayden Lawrence breaks down his "bullseye" method — cold-calling every business in your own town before you ever move a mile further out — plus the local video ads that make leads self-qualify before they call. Between six guests this covers 18 tactics in total — content, referrals, gifting, cold outreach and paid — all built around one question: how to get clients for GoHighLevel, whether you're just starting or already running a seven-figure agency.

Most GoHighLevel agency cold calls end in a maybe. This cold calling for agencies script skips the follow-up and closes $500 to $1,500 on the very first call.
Balint spent 15 years and over 100,000 cold calls building the cold-calling script for agencies he walks through live here, all inside a GoHighLevel agency. The opener is 15 seconds — "I noticed you have 25 reviews, are you new here?" — built to get a "not really" instead of a hang-up. From there he gives away 25 reviews free as the foot-in-the-door offer, then pivots live into Google ranking, review replies, and geo-tagged photos, closing $500 to $1,500 before he hangs up. No CRM demo, no discovery call, no two-week nurture — this is getting clients for GoHighLevel stripped down to the call itself. Balint breaks down how he finds the prospect's pain on the fly (searching the business live, on a loud mechanical keyboard, so they hear you looking), the three objections that come up on almost every call — "I need to talk to my wife," "email me," "let me think about it" — and why he'd rather run a $99 setup fee than a $2,500 one if it means the deal closes today. If you've wondered how to make money with GoHighLevel without living on the phone, his answer is value-based pricing over cost-plus, and five hours a week once it's running.

Marc Aristide runs a recurring revenue agency on a $97 a month offer. He sells loyalty programs to nutrition shops, built entirely inside GoHighLevel with no third-party tools, and a third of his revenue comes from rebilling the text messages the system sends.
He found it by accident. He was working at Publix, paying $297 a month for HighLevel for almost a year before he made any money, and his first client was a friend paying $47. His approach was to Google local businesses, build them a homepage for free, and walk in with it. One day he walked into a nutrition shop and the owner said he didn't want a website, he wanted a loyalty program. Marc had no idea how to build one. He said he'd figure it out, and that customer is the reason the entire business exists.
In this episode he lays out the whole model. Why loyalty is stickier than anything else you can sell, since it's the customer's customers using it every day, and how the points, the QR code, the follow-ups, and the Google review requests all run on workflows. He explains why he still charges $97 after all this time, what happens when you play a volume game instead of chasing high ticket clients, and why his clients never log into HighLevel at all. There's a good stretch on how to pitch it, including the leaky bucket line and the one question that surfaces what a business owner actually wishes they could buy. He and Keaton also get into onboarding, why he tried a white label support company and it couldn't work, and the $13,000 he burned building an app that went nowhere.
One client had 15 Google reviews in five years. He got 15 more in his first two weeks on the program.
Every episode of What's Working is a long-form conversation with someone running a real GoHighLevel agency, with real numbers on the table. We get into getting clients for GoHighLevel, offers that work for beginners, selling GoHighLevel SaaS, agency pricing, AI services, and local business marketing. Hosted by Keaton Walker, who sells GoHighLevel and runs the HighLevel Guild community for agency owners.

Most GoHighLevel offer ideas point at local businesses. Jonah Cockshaw went the other way and sold to HighLevel users instead. A year after losing his job he's at $20,000 a month without a single local client.
He got let go on a Zoom call, walked out of his home office into the bathroom where his one-year-old was in the bath, and had to tell his fiancée. They had just renovated the house and put a deposit on their wedding venue. Two or three weeks of savings left, a mortgage, and no income. His first move was not a clever business model. He messaged people he already knew and offered to contract for $20 an hour, then took as many paid hours as he could get. On top of that he went into the HighLevel Facebook groups every single day and answered every question he could find.
Then he added the thing that actually built the business. Each day he took one question from the groups, recorded himself answering it inside HighLevel, and posted the video as its own standalone post with no pitch, no link, and no call to action. Just the answer. Do that long enough and people start coming to you. In this episode he breaks down the whole model: the ecosystem services nobody thinks to sell, how to land $20 an hour contract work when you're starting from nothing, the affiliate upgrades that bought back his first 40 hours, build-outs at $4,000 to $5,000, retainers at $2,000 to $3,000 a month, and the $250 mapping session he now sells before any proposal. That last one fixed a close rate that was falling apart.
He and Keaton also get into why most beginners should never sell a white label CRM, why the snapshot you buy is worth less than the one you build, and what Jonah means by launching something simple sooner. There's a story in here about a young Iman Gadzhi asking Jonah to meet for coffee in London, back when they were both nobodies trading notes.

Google Business Profile optimization might be the simplest offer you can sell a local business. Justin Silverman runs it for roughly 17,000 profiles through 1,300 reselling agencies, who pay him $99 a month per profile and resell it at around $497.
He did not start there. He was working a full time job, sold white label reputation management for two years, then lost faith that it was actually helping business owners. Google Business Profiles looked like the next thing, so he switched. He hired the cheapest fulfillment he could find overseas, and clients hated it. Typos, missed deadlines, no answers when they had questions. He was ready to shut the whole thing down, until he realized that if outsourcing this was hard for him it was hard for every agency. So he brought it in house, then built an AI agent to do what his team had been doing by hand.
In this episode he lays out the entire offer. Why over 90% of people use Google to find a local business and 74% of them buy within 24 hours, what actually moves a profile into the top three, and why Gemini and Siri now pull from that same data. He gets specific on pricing by industry, from carpet cleaners at $200 to med spas at $1,200, and makes the case for pricing at what the client can afford instead of what you can afford. He walks through three foot in the door offers, shows what goes in an audit including AI visibility across ChatGPT and Perplexity, explains why you sell this as a service and never as a product, and shares which clients actually make money. One partner does 95 med spas at $1,200 a month. Another cold calls from his car on the school run.
The blunt part is at the end. Every successful partner he has is cold calling. He could not find a single one winning with cold email.

Kai Stone is 29 and does $470,000 a month with the simplest agency offer there is. He sells websites to contractors at $297 a month.
For nine months he made $3,000 to $4,000 a month and sat through hour-long sales calls showing people every feature GoHighLevel has. Nobody bought. Then he had hip surgery, booked 33 appointments, and watched all 33 no-show. So he recorded a short video explaining exactly what he does and what it costs, and started sending it before every call. The 34th guy showed up, said he'd seen the video, and paid in eight minutes. Nine months after that they were at $300,000 a month.
In this episode Kai breaks down the whole model. Why a simple agency offer beats a feature dump, how to explain outcomes instead of features so beginners stop hitting the brick wall, what goes in the video and what to do when they haven't watched it, and the cold call script he made up on the spot that got him past the first ten seconds. He argues hard that beginners charging thousands a month are making a mistake, gets specific about churn at 1,300 clients, and lays out the lean $50k to $80k a month hands-off agency he'd build if he were starting again. He also explains why he ran zero upsells until he passed $100,000 a month.
If you keep changing what you sell and still can't explain the value to a business owner, this is the episode that makes you pick one thing.
