What's Your Record?

The guys try (with varying degrees of success) to keep things short by focusing on EPs! Grady focuses on an artist who splits time between New York and Seattle, but might be Canadian, Tyler's artist is down with exclamation points (!), and Jake discusses discovering his pick during a psychedelic trip and unknowingly stumbles upon a youtube cult with his single of the week!

The guys are tackling a theme that's been on the docket since season one: CONCEPT ALBUMS! Tyler keeps it loosey goosey with his pick, Jake attempts retribution for the injustices done on to him those two years ago, and all the while Grady waits in the wings for his moment to prey upon them both!

After a year of hot and heavy virtual discussion, your three hosts are back in the same room at Pennatration Studios! This week, all the picks were released in Q1 of 2021. We got them beats, we got them riffs, and we got them horns! Come learn about some new tunes with us!

The boys are taking a trip in their way way back machine to discuss some albums that they grew up with. Grady reveals he never heard any music until the age of 14! Tyler regales us with tales of their father's days as desperado down on the Blues Farms! Jake desperately hopes his father will finally listen to an episode of the show because it's about him!

The boys are tackling some of their favorite video game soundtracks! We're talking Red Dead Redemption, Hollow Knight, and The Last of Us!

SEASON 3 IS UPON YOU!  We're kicking off this one with another decade themed episode with picks from the 80s! Tyler is introduced to City Pop and Grady presents his perspectives on punk! Also Jake is here. You don't wanna miss this one!

It's the season finale! The boys attempt to get through three of their favorite albums from this terrible year...let's see how that goes. Top tens, fun superlatives, and more!

The boys are back! We decided to mix up the format a bit, playing a few full tracks we've been listening lately and reacting to them live. We've also got a debut from You, Me, and This Brick Wall You Built Between Us that is sure to blow your minds! Back to normal next episode when we present our albums of the year!!!

This week on What's Your Record, we're looking for music to relax/chill/kick it/sleep/clean/meditate/unwind to! We've also got new singles, a couple moments of silence for the greatest guitarist in the world Edward Lodewijk Van Halen (RIP you beautiful angel) and our takes on the latest from Sufjan Stevens and Fleet Foxes! Check it out!

Put down yer guitars, because the boys are talking about albums with unique instrumentation. Woodwinds! VIbes! Avocados?! We got 'em all! The picks:

Frank Zappa - The Grand Wazoo

Milt Jackson - Sunflower

Jens Lekman - Night Falls Over Kortedala
