When Doctors Are Wrong

Listen Later

“Abortion wasn’t a moment in my past. It followed me for years.”

In this deeply moving episode, Jennifer Barker shares her extraordinary journey through fear, faith, and redemption—a story that challenges medical prognoses, cultural narratives, and the idea that abortion is a simple solution.

At 37 years old, Jennifer’s pregnancy was immediately labeled “high risk.” Ultrasounds revealed cystic hygromas and markers commonly associated with chromosomal abnormalities and severe heart defects. Doctors warned her that her baby might not survive—and counseling sessions included abortion as an option. Having endured an abortion herself at 19, Jennifer knew she could not walk that path again.

Instead, she turned to prayer. After being anointed with oil and surrounded by her church community, Jennifer returned for another ultrasound—only to discover the cystic hygromas had completely disappeared! Her daughter was later born healthy, defying every expectation placed upon her life.

Jennifer also bravely opens up about the lasting physical and emotional trauma of her past abortion, the years of guilt and shame that followed, and the forgiveness she found through faith.

“Every child deserves a chance at life—no matter the circumstances of their conception or the predictions made about them.”

We must confront the realities of abortion’s long-term impact on women, the uncertainty of fetal anomaly diagnoses, and the moral weight of legislative decisions surrounding life. This episode is a call to examine truth over convenience, hope over fear, and the inherent value of every human life.

If you would like to get in touch with Jennifer you can find her on Facebook. You can find the legislation (HJR73) we discussed that will go to a vote of the people in 2026 for a constitution change in the state of Missouri. I also believe Act4MO has done a great video series breaking down and discussing A3 (HJR73). Find those here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

I did an episode with Jennifer back in August regarding the “no shot, no school” fallacy, it’s a great listen! You can find that episode here.
