Cs: Ve třídě pražské střední školy panovala nervózní atmosféra.
En: In the classroom of a pražské high school, there was a nervous atmosphere.

Cs: Bylo pozdní jaro a kvetoucí stromy za otevřenými okny lákaly pozornost žáků.
En: It was late spring and the blooming trees outside the open windows were distracting the students.

Cs: Jana seděla v první řadě s očima pevně zaměřenýma na svůj test.
En: Jana sat in the front row with her eyes firmly fixed on her test.

Cs: Chtěla být nejlepší ve třídě, toužila po titulu premiantky.
En: She wanted to be the best in the class and longed for the title of valedictorian.

Cs: V hlavě jí zněla ozvěna tiku hodin, která však nebyla tak hlasitá jako její touha po úspěchu.
En: In her head, the ticking of the clock echoed, yet it was not as loud as her desire for success.

Cs: Jana zaváhala, uvnitř sebe bojovala mezi strachem ze ztráty bodů a potřebou pomoci.
