What does it really mean to love… when it hurts?
In this deeply personal episode, I share the raw and honest reality of caring for my 90 year old mother and her ailing conditions and cognitive deficits —what it asks of me as a daughter, a mother, and a woman trying to hold it all together.
This is a conversation about sacrifice…
about anger…
about the grief of watching someone you love slip away—
and the guilt of not always having enough left for your children… or yourself.
But it’s also about something deeper.
About learning to sit with the fears that rise—fear of losing love, fear of not being enough—and discovering how those very fears can guide us back into the heart.
Through this journey, I’ve begun to find what I call a Home Within—a space of stillness, presence, and deep inner listening that allows me to soften, to breathe, and to meet both myself and my mother with more compassion.
If you are a caregiver, a daughter, a son, or someone walking alongside a loved one in a difficult season… this episode is for you.
Not for answers—
but for comfort, understanding, and the reminder that you are not alone.
In this episode:
• The emotional reality of caregiving for a parent (dementia, Alzheimers, or not)
• Navigating anger, guilt, and physical exhaustion
• Witnessing your own patterns through caregiving
• Finding presence through and with your children in the midst of pain
• Creating a “Home Within” through stillness and self-awareness
* If this episode speaks to your heart, consider sharing it with someone who may need a moment of understanding and support.
