New eSafety Commission research reveals nearly one in five young adults see tracking a partner's location as normal in a relationship.

The study of 2000 adults linked location sharing to a higher risk of coercive control. 

Director of DV Safe Phone, Ashton Wood, told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, "The two you mentioned, which was Life360 and Find My iPhone, they're the two most common ones that most people put them on to just keep their family safe."

"When it becomes expected as opposed to just something for safety. That's when you start getting concerned."

"There's also ways to track phones, no matter how many times you reset them. So a lot of perpetrators know this. That's why they've been talking in Queensland about laws,  around this sort of technology-facilitated abuse, which I think is a really good idea," Mr Wood continued.
