When Scary Met Stabby episodes

  • The Lost Boys (1987)
The boys round out another season with returning guest/friend of the show Jonathan Kesselman (Incontinent, The Hebrew Hammer) joins to discuss the 1987 classic The Lost Boys, and together discussions are had. What kind of discussions? Well, there's definitely talk of the sax man. You can't talk about the Lost Boys without talking about the sax man. They also get into the wild years after this film for the Frog Brothers (one disppeared and the other started dressing like Michael Jackson meets Kylo Ren), and later Scott tells a story about YOOOOOUR BOSTON BRUINS...I mean, Yor Forger.

  • Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010) (Featuring Abram Taber)
The boys are back for more Yuks and YUCKS as they discuss 201's Tucker & Dale vs. Evil with first time guest Abram Taber. When not busy with that line of conversation, the topic shifts from outdated Halloween costumes to a new Christmas card idea for CB. Later, Scott tells us the "true" story of a hiking ghost that haunts Appalachia. That is, if the ghost is actually dead. It gets weird. Enjoy!

  • Lisa Frankenstein (2024) (Featuring Ally McGillicuddy)
The boys are joined this week by makeup and SFX artist Ally McGillicuddy (Last Chance Motel, Bad Karaoke, many, many others) to discuss the delightfully twisted 2024 film Lisa Frankenstein. Together, they discuss the insane characters of this film besides Lisa (not Sherry), the beauty of finding asbestos in a high school when you're going there (wooo! unplanned vacation!), and while unspoken, all probably hope for an uncut version of this film.

Later, Scott talks about a guy who was probably a little too into electricity. It was the 19th century, though, so there wasn't much else going on at the time.

Note: Due to some audio issues that were absolutely not CB's fault, the first chunk of the episode relies on Zoom audio.

  • Slither (2006) (Featuring Johnny Jimenez)
This week the lads are joined by first time guest Johnny Jimenez (Knock Over City, We Let The Hats Decide) to discuss James Gunn's directorial debut, "Slither". It's a good old fashioned gross out comedy that takes place in a really dumb town that happens to be fictional so no one gets too offended, but also in the south so some people can get a little offended.

Extensive discussions about Michael Rooker on and off screen, human/alien abominations, and even the mid-aughts television show "Look Around You." We are unafraid to turn over any stone in our quest for the truth. Or whatever it is we're trying to do here.

  • Werewolves Within (2021) (Featuring Jon Reilly)
We're back for another round of horror movies with the odd anecdote or seven for our sixth season, which we have dubbed Yuks and YUCKS. That's right, it's horror comedy time, bay-beee!

For the first episode of the season, we are joined again by friend of the pod Jon Reilly of Life's But a Song podcast, as well as No! Stalgia featruing our own Scott Kurland. Things are getting as intertwined as some of the gore and viscera we'll be covering throughout this season. But for now: werewolves, Michaela Watkins, Sam Richardson, and Harvey Guillén all being amazing, and Scott relays a story of a stinky beast that may or may not inhabit southern Wisconsin. And no, we're not talking about a nightmarish Culver's mascot.

  • Death Becomes Her (1992) (Featuring Hayleigh Kurland and Danielle Brown)
As we crawl across the finish line of Schlocktobermess, Christopher and Scott are joined by Danielle Brown and Hayleigh Kurland to discuss 1992's delightfully gross romp "Death Becomes Her". Discussions are had about more juvenile employees in the work force, why Bruce Willis was uniquely perfect for this role, and some likes it hot. Scott then regales all with a story of a haunted hotel in Los Angeles (not that one) (no, not that one, either).

  • The Frighteners (1996) (Featuring Jonathan Kesselman)
Schlocktobermess rolls along as Christopher and Scott are once again joined by friend of the pod Jonathan Kesselman (Jimmy Vestvood: Amerikan Hero, The Hebrew Hammer) to discuss 1996's uneven but fun horror comedy romp The Frighteners. Christopher gets distracted with his true crime interest and the parallels between this film and a real life killer, Scott gives Clint Howard his knightly due, and Jonathan tries to convince them both to visit an allegedly haunted house in Central Massachusetts. All in all, another typical episode around these parts.

  • The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) (Featuring the Weirdo Wednesday Podcast hosts)
Schlocktobermess rolls along! We're joined this week by fellow regional horror enthusiasts from the hosts of the Weirdo Wednesday Podcast, Rob, Bex, and Dan, as we dive into a very fun slice of 70s Vincent Price action. Come to hear us talk about a really fun horror comedy that's as fun to look at as it is to watch, and stay to hear us discuss such topics as new band names, the badassery that is Vulnavia, and perhaps maybe we even discover just who was phone!

In the Massachusetts area? Check out Weirdo Wednesday every week at Cinema Salem at 7:30pm!

Additionally, check listings for Freakout Fridays at the Owl Theater in Lowell!

  • Re-Animator (1985) (Featuring Allison White and Jarrod Staples)
Schlocktoberfest rolls along as Christopher and Scott are joined by Allison White (Garbage Day Horror) and Jarrod Staples (World of Commotion) to discuss 1985's "Lovecraft-based" "classic", Re-Animator. Come for the schlock, and stay for the talk of refrigerator pigs, what lobotomies actually do (hint: it's mind control), and perhaps the youngest KFC/Taco Bell employee on the eastern seaboard.
    1 hr 18 min
  • The Monkey (2025) (Featuring Jon Reilly)
We're back in action for our fifth season, subtitled Schlocktoberfest. Each week we'll report on the blood splattering and the guts spilling, beginning with this year's own "The Monkey". Written and directed by Oz Perkins and released after his (inexplicable to us) victory lap after the strange amount of acclaim achieved by "Longlegs", "The Monkey" regardless cements his reputation as a horror creator who can make bank. We're joined by Jon Reilly of Life's But a Song podcast as we parse this aggressive horror comedy and discuss the weirdoes of Maine and customer service at Friendly's restaurants.
