Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. I don’t doubt that the governors who have put our states in lockdown are well-intentioned. Yet they are systematically violating the civil rights of their citizens, including their inalienable rights to liberty, the pursuit of happiness, the free exercise of religion, and the right to peaceable assembly. When King George put the city of Boston in lockdown in 1774, our colonial forefathers would not stand for it. The closing of Boston Harbor led to Paul Revere’s ride, to the Continental Congress, and to the Declaration of Independence. The current clampdown on our liberty and religious rights cannot last indefinitely. Our politicians should be forewarned that the American people will not be confined forever. A smart governor will reopen his state just as soon as he possibly can.
