When The Night Comes Out

Welcome to the first of When the Night Comes Out Presents - one long story told over months. This is episode five of - The Hive.

The Hive is a prison buried below ground. So far down, it is all on its own, built to thrive without any help from the surface. The families of the guards live in Hive City, while employees of the prison pass through The Gate into a world of prison cells, mining, and living far below the world.

Now, deep within the mines, an ancient evil has been unleashed. Something with gnashing teeth, and that reanimates the dead. Something that wants to turn everyone in the Hive - and then head to the surface.

Imagine, if you will, a tower. An office tower that reaches high into the air. So high, that should, say, a fog roll in off the lake, it might get the bottom offices, but not the top. Imagine being at the top of those office buildings, and suddenly the rest of the world down below vanishes. Something horrifying has crawled across the city. Something that devours. Something that would only appear - When the Night Comes Out.
