The Hell Yes! Habit

When the Universe Sends You a Tractor-Trailer of Hogs, Take Note and Take Action

Listen Later

Today’s episode reminds us that building a strong connection with the people you meet and collaborate with will pay tremendous benefits well into the future. I’m chatting with a colleague from decades ago when we were pulling off huge creative campaigns together in NYC. Our lives and careers have evolved in different ways but it’s incredible to see that we’ve come to many of the same epiphanies and practices to elevate us to the next level. Four years ago Jason embarked on a spiritual awakening that has shaped his approach to everything he does. One big decision to go vegan set the dominos cascading into every other facet of his life. Under all of that levity and lively banter, he boils it all down to the idea that all of our decisions are fundamentally based on kindness and empathy.. Whether that be to others or ourselves… rooting into curiosity over judgment moves us forward in quantum leaps.

Jason drops nuggets of wisdom left and right so it’s hard to cull it down to a short list… so here are just some of today’s #lillovebombs:

  1. Friction and Alignment are Friends. We need a little friction to get us aligned.
  2. How you do one thing is how you do everything.
  3. Just shift! We have the power to literally shift anything at any time. We can totally control our own mindset and learn to self rescue.
  4. Start with Luck and end with intention.
  5. Consistency is key. You don’t have to be the best but being consistent to show up is literally what wins the race.
  6. Set your own boundaries and don’t judge others.
  7. If courage eludes you, commit to doing the work. Just solve the first problem first.
  8. You can do anything for 30 seconds. What you are currently experiencing might suck, but it's just a moment in time, it's not a state of being - it’s a state of transition!
  9. Get curious.
  10. Do a post mortem review. Ask yourself are there behaviors I can change to prevent entering that space again and follow your own discoveries.
  11. Start your self care practice small and expand slowly. Create habits one at a time to build a panel of practices that bring you back to center.
